There are several reasons for which your message waiting led might stay always on.

  1. One of them is that message waiting is set differently in the basic and advanced page. In this case, try to set them both to 'no' and then set message waiting to 'yes' in the basic page. In order to setup message waiting you should follow the steps:
    1. Log in as admin in your phone's web interface, by pressing the "Admin Login" link.
    2. Click the "advanced" link to access the advanced settings section or "basic" to access the basic settings section.
    3. Select the extension tab for the extension you want to set. For example click "EXT1" tab.
    4. In the "Call Feature Settings" section of the page, set the "Message Waiting" field to "yes".
    5. Press the "Submit all changes" button.
  2. If the previous solution isn't working, you can reset the phone to factory defaults.
